ALCOR EQUIPMENT’S DEMOUNTABLE GRANDSTANDS FOR THE FIS ALPINE SKI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MERIBEL-COURCHEVEL
The topographical peculiarities of the site required a lot of leveling, and the climatic constraints (snow, frost, wind) necessitated adaptations and additional services for the installation of the stands. For example, scheduling the assembly and disassembly dates outside of heavy snow periods and covering the seating areas with protective tarps.
After a week of assembly, the Méribel site boasts a modular grandstand with 3195 seats, including a platform for people with reduced mobility (PMR) accommodating companions. Additionally, the Courchevel site has a grandstand with 2916 seats, featuring a PMR platform as well as a platform for press and commentators, with the following technical characteristics:
- Access and exits via rear vomitories
- Side stairs
- Méribel grandstand elevated at 2m
- Tunnel under the grandstand
- The PMR zone positioned on platforms 1.50m high with ramp access and side stairs.
