About this Modular Grandstand Installation for Ballet Performances at the Château de Versailles
Alcor Équipements achieved a technical feat by installing a majestic 3,500-seat removable grandstand with 41 rows at the prestigious Versailles Palace.
This modular grandstand enabled the public to attend performances of Ravel’s Bolero interpreted by the Béjart Ballet of Lausanne.
Located in the Orangerie gardens of the Château de Versailles, this tubular grandstand was constructed by circumventing the topiaries (shrubs), boxwoods, and borders—all of which are classified.
The Alcor Équipements modular grandstand was also erected around two cypress trees so tall they extended beyond the stand rental. All operations involving unloading and transferring equipment, the use of carts, and assembly were carried out with special precautions due to the site.
The experience gained by Alcor Équipements from numerous assemblies of modular stands at classified sites was a major asset for the project’s success.
