After the resumption of summer festivals, international projects are back on track. We restarted this activity in Benin with the installation of a modular grandstand for the national holiday!
Alcor provides the grandstand for Benin’s Independence Day
After 2 postponed editions (in 2020 and 2021), Alcor installed a covered modular grandstand with 2,000 seats for Benin’s Independence Day (photo). Benin, formerly Dahomey, gained independence from France on August 1, 1960.
Under pressure from nationalist movements and demands for autonomy, France gradually granted more political freedoms to its colonies. In 1958, Dahomey became an autonomous republic within the French Community before proclaiming full independence in 1960. The first president of the independent country was Hubert Maga, who played a key role in this transition.
Since then, the West African country celebrates Independence Day every August 1st. Alcor is proud to have contributed to the smooth running of the event, with the grandstand allowing officials to admire the military parade.
This is a first achievement for Alcor in this country where our CEO was born, and it is doubly satisfying to restart the installation of our modular grandstands abroad after the COVID hiatus and to work in a new West African country, Benin.
